词源词根法
来自拉丁语folia，叶子，词源同foliage.进一步来自PIE*bhel，鼓起，膨胀，词源同ball，blade.原用来指生长的叶子，后指叶片，书页。一张大纸，只折叠一次装订成册的大型书籍，英语叫folio.这个词是从拉丁词folium来的，意思是“一片树叶”，引伸指“书的一页”继而指整张纸对折的大型书籍。
