Objective To study the changes of neutrophil chemotactic index and serum IL-8 contents after cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury in rats.

Results The neutrophil chemotactic index and serum IL-8 levels reached the peak at 1 hour after reperfusion ( P < 0.01), and then decreased. It returned to the values of the control group at 48 hours after reperfusion.
