In this thesis a series of steroidal glycosides and flavonoid glycosides were synthesized, and their structures were determined. In this present paper the distribution of steroidal glycosides in Aspidistra was summarized on the basis of references and experimental studies.

Results: By the HPLC method, the contents of steroidal pennogenin four glycosides of the five species Aspidistra plants in Guangxi were determined, which ranged from 1 014% to 3 804%.
