严守律法的古犹太教派成员。来自希腊语Pharisaios，来自希伯来语parash，分开的。即分开的教派，与其它教派不同的教派，该教派以严守律法著称，但同时被其它教派认为过于表面，过于做作，因此，引申词义伪善者，自恃清高者。
