这几个短语都可以表示“位于…的东部”。它们的区别是：

at the east of指两地互不包括,且距离较近。例如:

Taiwan is at the east of Fujian.台湾在福建的东边。

in the east of指一个地区包括在另一个地区之内,位于该地区的东部。例如:

China lies in the east of Asia.中国位于亚洲的东部。

on the east of指两地接壤,一地位于另一地之东。例如:

Tianjin is on the east of Beijing.天津在北京的东边。

to the east of指两地相隔较远,一地位于另一地之东。例如:

这三个词共同的意思是“来自东方的”。它们的区别是：

1.east多用来表示世界或某一个国家的东部,界限比较分明,且可用于专有名词前; eastern的界限不太分明。例如:

All these countries are eastern countries.所有这些国家都是东方国家。

easterly除表示“来自东方的”外,还表示“向东的,东面的”。例如:

The ship continued to hold her easterly course.这艘船继续她向东的进程。

2.修饰抽象名词时须用eastern,不用east。
