squeezes

这三个动词共同的意思是“挤,压”。它们的区别在于:

1.press指力量来自于上方。例如:

Press the button, then the machine will work.按下电钮,机器就能运转了。

2.pinch指用手指捏、拧或夹。例如:

jam专指四面八方都压紧或塞满。

squeeze多指从两面或多面施加压力来压紧、压碎或压出水来。

compress指把某些东西压在一起或使占有较小空间。

squash指某物受力被压偏或压碎。也指塞挤。
